SurfApps is a small, privately held company located in Destin Florida, U.S.A.. SurfApps was founded by James Mathies, an avid web surfer and Windows software developer with 20 years of experience.
SurfApps found it’s start in a simple freeware pop-up stopper Jim developed called PopThis! The story goes after receiving a pop-up from Yahoo! Mail, he decided it was time to write a small, free, highly reliable pop-up disabler for Internet Explorer to help stem the tide of annoying pop-ups on the net. Rumor has it the name ‘PopThis!’ came from Jim’s thoughts at the moment, something akin to “Yahoo!, you can PopThis!” The original web site Jim put together can be viewed here.
PopThis! turned out to be very popular with the Internet community - over 2 million Internet surfer’s downloaded PopThis! in the first 6 months the software was available. Many had very positive things to say.
In sticking with Jim’s original promise, the free version of PopThis! is still available today from SurfApps. We also have a “professional” version available which includes a number of improvements and added features you may find useful, including our new Pinpoint pop-up prevention technology which prevents pop-up before they load, saving you time and bandwidth.
SurfApps now offers a number of software products oriented towards improving your Internet experience and making the Internet a safer place.
